The short set of rules
This is a teacher’s website. It is written plainly on purpose, because rules nobody reads are not rules.
Who runs this site
I do. Mr. Tuna, and nobody else. I teach at Saint Edward’s School, and my classes use this site, but the school does not run it, does not host it, does not endorse it, and is not responsible for it. Everything here is mine, including the mistakes.
What it is for
It is here to help people learn physics. It is not the course. Your grade is set by the work you do in class, not by anything that happens on a leaderboard here. Nothing on this site is a substitute for a teacher, and nothing on it should be treated as a professional opinion of any kind.
Class codes
A class code is issued by me. It identifies a student to the site without naming them, and it opens the Lucasian level, the live tutor, the printable notes and the class discussion.
- A code is for one person. Please do not share it.
- Work done under a code counts as that person’s work.
- The code lives in the browser, so on a shared device you should sign out when you are done.
- I can withdraw a code if it is being misused.
Things I send on request
Most of this site is open to everybody and always will be. A few things are not posted publicly, and you are welcome to write to me about them: the printable Cornell Notes, the worked solution to the Lucasian level, and a class code for someone who is not one of my students.
I send those at my discretion, and for some of them I may ask for a fee. If I do, I will tell you what it is before anything is sent, and you are free to say no. Nothing is ever charged without your agreement first, and none of it affects what is already free.
What you may do with the material
Read it, print it, work through it, and use it in your own studying. Teachers are welcome to use it with their own classes.
Please do not republish it as your own, sell it, or feed it to something that scrapes and reposts it. The Cornell Notes in particular are handed over, not published, and I would like them to stay that way.
The discussion
The class discussion is part of the course. Write the way you would speak in the classroom. Every comment is read by an automatic screener before anybody can see it, and I can hide or remove anything at any time, for any reason, including for no reason I feel like explaining.
Do not post anybody’s personal information, including your own.
Books, links and advertising
Book links point to Amazon, and as an Amazon Associate I may earn a commission on a qualifying purchase. Nothing on the shelf is required and nobody is expected to buy anything. Every one of those books is in the library or on my shelf, and you are welcome to borrow it.
The advertising on this site is supplied by WordPress.com and its partners. I do not choose it and I do not see what you are shown.
The tutor is a machine
The live tutor is an AI model. It is good at asking the next question and it is sometimes wrong about physics. Do not treat it as an authority, and please tell me when it says something silly. That is useful to me.
Mistakes, and the site going down
I write this in the evenings. Something here is wrong at any given moment, and I would rather hear about it than not. Email me and I will fix it.
The site is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, correct, or working tomorrow. I am one person, and I am not able to accept liability for any loss that comes from using it.
Age
This site is not intended for children under 13, and a code is not issued to one.
Changes
I will change these terms when the site changes. The date at the bottom is when I last did.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida.
